Sew a Light-Up Headband with Kathy Ceceri

January 23, 2021 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am PST

 - $30.00

What You'll Do:

Sew a simple earwarmer/headband from an old sweater or piece of fleece — then make it dazzling with lights! Follow along as we use basic hand sewing and embroidery techniques to construct the headband and attach a string of LED lights to make a dazzling wearable!

This class is best for teens (or tweens with some hand sewing experience). For help, check out my book Fabric and Fiber Inventions. (Watch my quick video on a trick for threading a needle here.)

What You'll Need:

  • LED light wire strand (any color) with battery pack for two 3-volt coin cell batteries (such as these)
  • two 3-volt batteries, such as CR2032 (if not included with lights)

Sewing Materials

  • strip of fleece or felt long enough to fit around your head, and twice as wide as you want the finished headband to be
  • needle and thread (embroidery floss and a needle with a large eye work well)
  • scissors
