Learn 2D Parametric CAD with Gram

April 30, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

 - $20.00

What You'll Do:

The Gram design language lets you make dynamic 2D designs that are easy to modify, re-mix, and share. In Gram you create objects by describing patterns. The language is designed to be accessible to anyone, even those without programming experience.

In this class you’ll have the opportunity to learn gram from the creator of the language.

You can find example gram designs here. The program runs in the browser, so no downloads are necessary.

Skill Level:

No experience required, just interest in using a computer to make things!

Skills you will learn:

2D parametric design, an introduction to coding and computational thinking, the Gram design language

What You'll Need:

Chrome or Firefox web-browser, no Safari

About the Facilitator:

Leo McElroy is an independent technologist and maker. His introduction to the maker world was through creating the makerspace at Middlebury College while a student. After graduating he received a Watson Fellowship which supported a year of visiting makerspaces around the world investigating how access to creative communities and tools can affect the way people learn, work, and play. He now lives in Boston, MA and teaches digital fabrication while developing tools to make technological expression more broadly accessible.
